BIHAPH Draws the Curtains of Her Six Months Peace Project

These were the words of the CEO of Bihndumlem Humanitarian Association of Peace and Hope, Mme Bibiana Dighambong during the closing ceremony of the Peace Project this 15th December 2021 at Bamenda I council Hall.
 
During the ceremony, the representative of the S.D.O of Mezam thanked the CEO immensely for the great assistance she has given our nation by preaching and empowering community leaders on peace. “Be an ambassador of peace where ever you are, be it in your homes, churches, meeting groups, communities and schools”, she reiterated.
 
Certificates and pledges were awarded to the participants as a symbol of what they have assimilated during this six months. “When you take these pledges, get a frame and preserve it jealously. It will always remind you of this commitment you have taken today” Madam Mbei Bibiana said as she readout the pledges to the audience.
The participants were taught how to make detergents, body lotion and product packaging. This activity is part of BIHAPH Strategy in mainstreaming economic economic activity in conflict transformation and peace building.
 
To ensure the sustainability of the project, six leaders were appointed, two from each community, with the role of coordinating peace activities and economic empowerment initiatives, learnt during the course of the project.
“ We are very satisfied, fulfilled and empowered with skills and knowledge in peace building in the community in the contest of what we are living with in our region.We learnt that peace can best be practiced using the bottom-top approach, in this way the impact would be much felt’’. We need more of these initiatives especially in our restive regions echoed participants.
