UNHCR AND BIHAPH SCALING GENDER GAPS BY EMPOWERING WOMEN AND GIRLS IN AGRICULTURE

Women and girls in poor rural communities are susceptible to violence caused by harmful cultural practices, wars and conflict, poverty, stereotypes and stigmatisation, this is heightened by sexual exploitation and abuse, denial of resources and other related assaults. As a response to fight this social and devastating ill, BIHAPH and Her partners are empowering Fifty girls/women in rural communities in the North West Region of Cameroon on vocational skills among which are market gardening, pastries and decor.

They have been trained on the cultivation of water melon, Irish potatoes, cucumber, varied spices, huckleberry and maize. Since the soil never fails, these ones will be able to market produce from their farms in future .

Together let’s join hands to END GBV, SEA , support women and girls in the drive for sustainable community development, change and economic transformation.
